Final Posters
Here's two of my completed posters. I much prefer the grid one. Kavinsky, the artist, works with samples from 1980s-1990s videos, and creates a very '80s police feel to his work. I tried to emulate that in the grid poster by using the colors that Kavinsky does in his illustrate avatar and typefaces common in 1980's design.

Mini-book
Here's a page from my mini-book. I'm planning on adding a texture to the background and changing the colors a bit, but I've got the basic layout for one. I'm also thinking about knocking out the photo of the band so they're just white. I need a lighter color instead of dark, I think. I've got a similar thing going on here I want to emulate on the other pages, but with a lighter color:

Avatar vs. Papyrus
I saw Avatar about three months ago, and Papyrus bothered me. It wasn't until a few days ago that I actually compared the title typeface with Papyrus and noticed they were different.
Papyrus is pink. For some reason, and I'm sure more than a few artists involved with this movie fought it, but Cameron's team used Papyrus as a base, but changes the widths and strokes. This is especially evident in this screenshot:
You can see the "pits" in the letter are identacle, the stroke has just been widened.
I just wish it was something else.
